FAQ

How do you pronounce "vidle"?

Since it is derived from the two words video + puzzle, we believe it is best pronounced as :vɪdl.

How often do you release a vidle?

We do our best to release a new vidle every few days, although sometimes it may take longer (you know, when life happens).

To get notified of new vidles, you can follow us:

Why don't you release the vidle solutions immediately?

We usually release the solution to a vidle a few hours after the vidle itself.

This is to give everyone a chance to think about and discuss the vidle before everyone sees the answer.

It also avoids spoilers from people who were not able to guess the secret word.

Where do you come up with the ideas for vidles?

We try to create vidles to be inclusive, i.e. so anyone in the world that knows some English can solve them.

So we try to come up with topics that are well known and popular.

We also try to follow the latest world events closely so we can be in the flow with our users as we all live through them.

Why do you need Javascript?

Vidle needs JavaScript for the game experience (e.g. it changes the user interface and shows animations as you play the game).

Unfortunately, these are core to the Vidle experience, and are not possible without Javascript support.

How can I play the older vidles?

You can simply go to our previous vidles page and play any vidle.

How can I install Vidle on my phone?

There is no application (yet) for Vidle on the App Store or on Google Play. If you find one, it is probably a copycat and we recommend you to avoid it.

If you want to install the web page on your phone, you can check out this article that explains how to do it for popular browsers.

Why do you have ads?

We use ads to pay for content creation costs for vidles, as well as hosting and other expenses.
